Hey, Ladies of Lex biz owners! Whether you’ve been advertising with us for awhile or just getting started, we’ve made a few important updates to how ads work in the group—and we want to make sure you’re in the loop.
Why We Made These Changes
Ladies of Lex has always been about supporting women—especially small, local business owners. Over the years, we’ve watched home-based makers, side hustlers, and solo freelancers grow their brands right here in the group. But we’ve also seen more established businesses join in and take advantage of low-cost ad days (we see all the med spas and mental health providers taking advantage of our amazing deals!)
In order to keep things fair and still offer affordable advertising to the small businesses who need it most, we’ve created two ad tiers.
Here’s the Breakdown:
Tier 1: Small, Home-Based Businesses
This tier is for solo-run, at-home, or side hustle businesses that do not have a storefront, employees, or commercial space. These are the women grinding it out in their kitchens, garages, or behind laptops—and we’re here for it.
Examples include:
- Cottage bakers / home bakers
- Freelance artists or graphic designers
- Babysitters / nannies
- Pet sitters / dog walkers
- Handmade items (candles, jewelry, soaps, crafts, t-shirts, etc.)
- Cleaners, organizers, mobile detailers
- Traveling hairstylists or makeup artists (with no suite or studio)
- Photographers (with no studio)
Saturday Ad pricing: $5
Standard Ad pricing (Sunday-Friday): $20
Tier 2: Established or Commercial Businesses
If your business has any of the following: a physical location, storefront, branding, employees/staff, or operates at a professional/commercial level, it falls under Tier 2. This tier is for businesses that are up and running at scale—and ad rates reflect that.
Examples include:
- Nail salons, hair salons, spas
- Therapy offices / mental health providers
- Medical services / IV therapy / wellness clinics
- Restaurants or food trucks
- Licensed daycare facilities
- Event rental companies
- Photography studios
- Law offices / tax services / realtors / insurance agents
- Any business operating under an LLC or with staff
Saturday Ad pricing: $20
Standard Ad pricing (Sunday-Friday): $30
These changes help us protect the spirit of Small Biz Saturday while also giving larger businesses space to promote themselves fairly. We’re not here to exclude—we’re here to create balance.
Reminder: Buy the Right Tier
Before you purchase an ad, please make sure you’re selecting the correct tier for your business. Since we rolled out these changes a week ago, we’ve been lenient, but we will not be issuing refunds for businesses that choose the wrong option to save money. If we notice a mismatch, your post may be declined or removed and future advertising privileges revoked!
And let’s be honest—you know which category you belong to!
